Also included is correspondence between Rachel H. Roberts and her husband, David. The collection includes genealogical information on the Roberts, Hooton, and other related families, along with wills and account books of Joseph and Susanna Roberts. John Collins was a Quaker from Burlington County, New Jersey. He was born in early 1750 (late 1749 old style) to Francis and Ann Collins and married Ruth Burdil, born 1750 to Arthur Burdil. Ruth died in 1805, and in 1807 Collins remarried, this time Esther Hunt (née Roberts), widow of Joshua Hunt, who was also native to Burlington County but had lived for over a decade in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. John Hunt was born in 1740, the son of Robert and Abigail (Wood) Hunt of New Jersey. His father was a first cousin to the John Woolman (1720-1772). In 1763, John Hunt married Esther Warrington in the Chester meeting house, under the supervision of Evesham Monthly Meeting. He was a Quaker minister for more than 50 years and died in 1824. He was born on the 1st day of the 2nd month, 1754, to Robert and Martha (Bate) Hunt of Moorestown, New Jersey. Rachel H. Roberts was a Quaker from southwestern New Jersey. The daughter of Joshua and Esther Hunt, she married David Roberts, the son of Joseph and Susanna Roberts. She died in 1881. Her mother, Esther, was born in 1751 and after the death of Joshua Hunt, she married John Collins. Elisha and Caleb were two of Esther's seven children. She died in 1820.
